WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee AppleSox overcame a late deficit to secure a 5-4 victory against the Kamloops NorthPaws on Thursday night, clinching their 10th series win of the season.

In a tightly contested match at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium, the AppleSox (28-14, 10-5 second half) demonstrated their resilience, scoring three crucial runs in the final two innings to edge past the NorthPaws.

James Castagnola was instrumental in the AppleSox's offense, contributing two hits, including a solo home run in the fourth inning that tied the game at 2-2. This marked Castagnola's second homer of the summer, both coming in this series against Kamloops.

Despite being outhit by their opponents, a scenario in which they now hold a 14-4 record, Wenatchee managed to secure the win. The victory improved their record to 12-2 in series-deciding games this season.

Wenatchee's pitching staff played a pivotal role in the win. Starter Caleb Costa delivered a season-high five innings, striking out three. Andrew Monson (5-0) earned the win in relief, allowing one run but closing out the game with two perfect innings and five strikeouts.

The AppleSox now embark on a six-game road trip, beginning with a crucial matchup against the Edmonton Riverhawks on Friday. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. local time.

This victory solidifies Wenatchee's strong position in the West Coast League as they continue their push in the second half of the season.
