Posted

TWISP—A wildfire in Okanogan County has prompted authorities to issue a Level 1 Advisory for residents near State Route 20, east of Upper Beaver Creek and Frazer Crossing Road.

The Frazer Crossing Fire, which began on Sunday, had grown to approximately 125 acres as of early afternoon. It is burning on the south side of State Route 20 and is moving east and south towards Finley Canyon.

Okanogan County Fire District 6 reported that volunteer firefighters responded to the scene, with air support working on the fire's flanks to protect nearby structures. Officials note that extreme heat is complicating firefighting efforts.

The Level 1 Advisory, issued at 1:06 p.m., urges residents to be aware of their surroundings and prepare to take action if necessary. Emergency Management officials advise that residents should not wait for door-to-door notifications before taking precautionary measures.

Authorities are cautioning drivers to be aware of emergency vehicles responding to the fire. Residents seeking more information are directed to visit the Okanogan County Emergency Management's active incident web page.

As the situation develops, officials say they will continue to monitor the fire and provide updates as needed.
