Senior Health Fairs to offer free screenings across North Central Washington

NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON  — Health officials and local organizations will host a series of Senior Health Fairs across North Central Washington, offering free screenings and information to older adults in the region.

The 2024 Senior Health Fair will take place at five locations throughout the area, with the first event starting this Thursday. Services include blood pressure checks, balance tests, and home safety assessments. Attendees will also receive vision information, falls prevention guidance, and medical equipment resources.

The events are scheduled as follows:

  • September 19: MV Community Center in Twisp, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • September 26: Elks Lodge in Omak, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • September 26: Lake Chelan Sr. Activity Center, 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • September 26: Cascade Medical in Leavenworth, 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • September 27: Wenatchee Sr. & Activity Center, 1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.

The health fair provides seniors with access to important health screenings and information in a convenient, community-based setting. These events promote better health awareness and preventive care among the senior population.

The event is sponsored by a coalition of local and state organizations, including:

Confluence Health, Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center, North Central Emergency Care Council, Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic, Three Rivers Hospital, Aging & Adult Care of Central Washington, Washington State Department of Health, Wenatchee Valley Medical Group, Lake Chelan Health, Cascade Medical, Omak Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Chrysler, Elks USA, and Methow At Home.

This diverse group of sponsors demonstrates a community-wide effort to support senior health and well-being in North Central Washington.
