Steven Wayne "Steve" Lautensleger

Posted

Steven Wayne "Steve" Lautensleger was born on September 25, 1950, and passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2024. He was born to Marie (Huckins) Lautensleger and Donald Lautensleger. He married Carol Kohl on February 17, 1973. Steve was born in Brewster, WA, and lived with his family in Pateros, WA, until his family relocated to Brewster, WA. He graduated from Brewster High School in 1969, then went to Wenatchee Valley College, where he earned his x-ray technician degree and where he met his wife, Carol.

After graduation, Steve and Carol moved to Seattle, WA, where he worked at Northgate Hospital and Virginia Mason. In 1979, they moved back to Brewster to help run the family orchards. This ended up being one of his passions in life. He ran 70 acres of orchard and took great pride in the quality of fruit he produced. He was active in his community and served on several boards involved in the fruit and warehouse industry.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Lautensleger and Don Lautensleger; and his grandmother, Harriet Huckins. Steve is survived by his wife, Carol, his daughter, Angie (Jason) Satterfield, son, Russ Lautensleger, his two grandsons Oliver and Lucas Satterfield along with many other family and friends.

The family would like to thank hospice, palliative care, and Confluence Health Infusion Center for providing wonderful care to Steve during his end stages of cancer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society because cancer sucks.
