PATEROS – Just a few months after its inaugural performance last June at Seattle’s Pike Place Market, Buskarama debuted at Pateros on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 20-21.
Appreciative attendees got the opportunity to listen to music from out-of-town and local musicians perform at the free event. Mayor Kelly Hook said he dropped by the festivities on three different occasions.
The Veterans of the Arts event, featuring licensed Pike Place Market Buskers, brought songwriting, instrument art, food, and craft vendors to downtown and performances at the Sweet River Bakery stage.
While street performers have been entertaining Seattle audiences for years, Buskarama is a new outreach event, and hopes are that Pateros will become a regular venue.
A future stop for the event is the Italian city of Potenza in December.
