A tradition of love continues at Brewster's American Legion
BREWSTER-To the traditional Thanksgiving recipe of food, family and football, you can add a fourth F: Free.

At least you can if you spend Thanksgiving at the American Legion Post 97 in Brewster, which will host its eighth annual free feast for the community, starting at 1 p.m. that Thursday.

The work is already in motion, with people getting dishes ready to bring to the post, said meal coordinator Andi Frisk, who took over from her predecessor after seven years.

"We are going to be doing the normal dinner: Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes," Frisk said. "We have a lot of people making special dishes to bring in. We will be here until we run out of food or people stop coming in."

Pateros High grad turns 100 in December
WENATCHEE - For some people, every day is a party. For Amy Snedaker, every day is a class reunion. All she has to do is wake up, and she's there.

Snedaker is 99 years old as of this writing. A member of the Pateros High School graduating class of 1935, she's the only one left.

For a change of pace, life will be a party for Snedaker, at least on Dec. 6, when her church of more than 50 years will celebrate her turning the big 1-0-0 with a gathering of friends, neighbors and relatives. The church is Wenatchee's King's Orchard Church of Christ, and the address is 1610 Orchard Ave. in Wenatchee. The party starts at noon.
